i want to support this venture but unfortunately for me, i don't have
any fur coats to donate. im slightly upset now. these poor animals are
abandoned and all humans can do to help is kill them for their

this spring is the best spring ever.
syahzan came up to spend some time with us and we
embarked on this crazy food and wine hunt from LA
to sonoma/napa.

starting with BLT... this restaurant gives a whole new
meaning to enjoying steak. they do it perfectly.
perfect crust with a perfect medium rare hue.
perfect cube of herb butter a top a perfect piece
of porterhouse.

i think im in love.

then we went on to the bay area. my first love.
and had the most amazing time,
wine-ing and dining to no end.
after spending two days eating and drinking in wine county,
we went for wine enthusiast's toast of the town.

again. the pigs have conquered.

then we went to a cheese shop on the way to the oyster farm
i learnt how to shuck my own oysters :) and then we went on
a super speedy tour of san francisco because we spent so much
time eating and drinkin that we forgot to tour sf. :P

exams are killjoys especially if you havent started studying
for them and stare into the superficial void of time like i have
been doing for the past 10 weeks.
lets see ive got 2 intensive exams tomorrow so i should hang

im always thinking about my insatiable hunger for something
to put in my belly. im gonna have a sandwich baby. im gonna have

today was a damn eventful day.
firstly, cos i had lunch with alex and nic (whom i havent seen in 3 yrs,
even tho she is in the states too... cos im always damn lazy)

i propped my camera atop a rubbish bin to take this shot ! (not bad)
then i took mar to cut her hair omg i swear cousin it was living in her
hair la ! look at the amt of hair on the floor... she looked so happy and

then i met the big monster for dinner and i was the most goondu person la
i told him to take the wrong bus then he tapped his card already n then we
ended up walkin from taka to chijmes but it was nice... we jus caught up on
a whole year's worth of conversations. i eat damn slow he is tired. i am an idiot
he wants to kill me if u could paint the sky any colour what would it be?
and so on so forth :) i have to say that reminiscing on jc days
just makes me want to go back to the good times of fun and laughter
but we all have to grow up some day, to leave our innocence behind n jus create
new goals to walk towards. its jus amazing how much we have grown since jus
3 yrs ago.. it seems as if time has just passed us by, yes we are still the same people,
but with different goals. different paths that will merge somehow. but we're one
step closer to becomin adults. jus kinda scares me sometimes.

i would have to say that this past month has been the most hectic yet
eventful month...sam came up here to fly off to singapore..then on the same
day lil came and im happy that i finally got some good company since the 2/3
of the kudus sisters are in LA.

we moved to LA! it was an experience, clemmy drove the 26 foot truck
(think SBS bus) down all the way took us a long grueling 8 hrs. and we finally
got there. so now im ready to come home to singapore. mar already planned
the menu so we're goin on an epic journey to find the best food in singapore.

well for one i think that i should go on a detox
for a number of simple reasons :

the first being . my toes turn purple. even when
its spring already i hate having to look at them and
then think they might fall off when i sleep

and secondly being. i dunno. i jus hate my stupid

and i should jus try going on a detox.

i went to my canteen, yokohama for dinner and
as usual they never fail to disappoint me. i had
hamachi kama sashimi.. and it was to die for. perfect
marbling of the fats intertwined with the luscious
hamachi melted in my mouth...

that is and always will be the highlight of yokohama... perfect.

i had this too.. :) lotsa sashimi and spicy mussels and my roll with
avacado, cream cheese, and tempura prawn, and tobikooooo.

my pops came up to see us recently, brought me bak kwa

we went to vegas... viva las vegas.. and then to LA.
i felt like a lightbulb...but its ok. i am a big girl i can entertain

my delectable habit of adhering to the slot machines definitely
got the better of me. but i had a truckload of gargantuan
fun. the company was great, food to die for and the casinos

was to switch on my camera and look at the time.

ok so i shall start blogging again... but with a new fervor...

so here goes...

i made kueh lapis today..and i was told that noone starts bakin kueh lapis
without baking cookies first... but i have no impish desire to bake cookies..
at all.

so i made kueh lapis..since i woke up at 630 cos clemmy went to watch football
(soccer to them americans) i decided to try my hand at baking. i have to admit it
was a pretty darned good first attempt at the infamous lapis.. i may have (may have
i emphasize) that i burnt one layer and undercooked a few other layers. but it looks
good i think. cos i made it but it does.

im moving down to LA in less than a few months.. im gonna miss cupertino and the
beautiful bay area. no more weekend drives to carmel by the sea, no more walking to
the chinese supermarket or target, no more tapex when i feel like it. damn. its as if
im moving to the desolate playground for the rich. but its ok .. i'll be with my sisters
and clemmy's coming so its a bonus..

well pepper has grown since we got him... almost twice his size... but still ever so cute
and adorable...perched on his pedestal .
i am coming home aug 1st.. and i really can't wait to take everyone on a
epicurean adventure of their lives. (monster u heard that!)

the highlight of fatty's trip to visit me was his birthday!
